Hargreaves Possibly Rare Early Self Portrait. The Miniature is signed and dated 1820 verso. The Miniature has convex glass
and is in its original rose gold framed case, with convexed glass & a foiled glazed back with waxed plaited hair to the
centre .
This is a very fine late regency portrait miniature by the listed artist George
Hargreaves.
George Hargreaves 1797-1870 exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1818-1820 from
London address, and at The Society of British Artists 1824-1834,he became an Associate in 1822 and a member of
the Liverpool Academy 1823-1831 in 1828 his address was Bold Place,Liverpool. Daphne Fosketts book describes the
Hargreave family artist members Thomas Hargreaves the father and his two sons, George and Francis Hargreaves as important
Liverpool Artists.
The Miniature was difficult to photograph because of the convex glass covering
it and shows some reflection in the photograph.more photos can be sent on request or an appointment can be made to view it.

edition of 1250 pencil numbered sets of 11 + 1 .
Offered here are five framed lithographs from the above rare series produced in colours for
the portfolio of 11+1 for the french circle of Toulouse Lautrec
All of the 5 are printed on watermarked TL handmade wove paper pasted on 3 corners on special flexible
boards, Each set of lithographs from the elles series is numbered in pencil. 4 of these offered being numbered
754/1250 also included as one of the five is the extra lithograph which was one of the separate 5000 numbered copies included
in each set ,numbered in pencil 558/5000 from the edition as issued,though in reality the issued numbers that were released
were much much lower than the reported 5,000 that was originally planned. Each of the five lithographs is framed and the paper
is franked for the circle of Toulouse Lautrec. This edition was only distributed to members of the Toulouse-Lautrec Circle”
by subscription, and is rare to find ,A very lovely and rare 5 part set from the rare circle of Toulous Lautrec 1969 elles
edition.
Each lithograph has the original boydell galleries label dating from 1969 verso
